Reel heights change the ways
Megaways is associated with changing numbers of visible symbols on reels. The possible winning combinations depend on that layout. For a hypothetical six-reel layout with heights 3, 4, 5, 4, 3 and 2, the layout has 3 × 4 × 5 × 4 × 3 × 2 = 1,440 possible ways. Only symbol combinations meeting the game’s rules pay. A maximum ways figure does not mean every spin has that many ways.
More ways does not establish better returns
Ways count is a layout characteristic. RTP, volatility, feature probabilities and stake are separate properties. Compare an original game with its Megaways sequel using their own rules.
