What PayID does
PayID lets a participating account use a memorable identifier, such as a mobile number or email address, instead of sharing a BSB and account number. The payment still moves through the relevant banking arrangements. Check your own financial institution for support and conditions.
A PayID logo does not validate an operator
A website’s display of a payment method is not a regulatory endorsement. The identity of a payee and the authorisation of a gambling product are separate checks. Australian online casino restrictions still apply.
Instant payments and instant withdrawals are different
A payment network’s delivery speed does not include every operator review, identity check or bank security hold. A claim about instant PayID pokies should state exactly which stage was measured; otherwise it is not a meaningful end-to-end withdrawal promise.
Read the payment details critically
Check that the recipient name corresponds to the expected entity. Treat requests to pay unrelated individuals or constantly changing accounts as reasons to stop and verify. Do not infer that a deposit route will also support a withdrawal.
Where to verify the facts
Australian Payments Plus explains PayID itself. Your bank explains its implementation. ACMA explains the Australian gambling context. These sources answer different questions and should not be substituted for one another.
